Target Information
Bovine angiogenin 1 is a potent angiogenic protein found in the serum and milk of cattle. It is a member of the ribonuclease superfamily and possesses ribonucleolytic activity that is critical to its biological function. This protein promotes blood vessel growth and is involved in processes such as cell migration, tissue repair, and embryonic development. Angiogenin's ability to induce angiogenesis is regulated by its interaction with the ribosome, which activates the enzyme and increases its efficiency in tRNA cleavage. This protein also plays a role in the innate immune system and has been implicated in various diseases, including cancer and neurodegenerative disorders. Its multifaceted functions make it an important molecule in both physiological and pathological contexts.
