Target Information
Bovine cytosol aminopeptidase (LAP3) is a proteolytic enzyme that plays a significant role in protein metabolism and growth in cattle. This enzyme is responsible for the hydrolysis of leucine residues from the amino termini of protein or peptide substrates, which is a critical step in the breakdown and recycling of proteins within the cell. LAP3 is highly expressed in various tissues such as muscle, liver, lens, and kidney, and its expression levels can impact muscle development and growth traits in cattle. Recent studies have also implicated LAP3 in the regulation of cell proliferation and differentiation, suggesting its potential role in the biological processes underlying tissue growth and repair. In the context of veterinary medicine, understanding the function of LAP3 can provide insights into the nutritional and physiological requirements for optimal health and productivity in Bovine species.
