Target Information

Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 (CCL2), also known as monocyte chemoattractant protein 1 (MCP1), belongs to the CC chemokine family. Chemokine (C-C motif) ligand 2 is encoded by the equine gene CCL2. It is a pro-inflammatory chemokine that has been shown to be important in the innate and adaptive immune response. Research has shown that equine herpesvirus type 1 can modulate the expression of the chemokines CCL2, CCL3, CCL5, CXCL9 and CXCL10.
