Target Information
L-Lactate Dehydrogenase A chain is encoded by the LDHA gene in pigs. LDHA exists as a monomer within the Lactate dehydrogenase enzyme complex, which overall functions as a tetramer. LDHA catalyzes the inter-conversion of pyruvate and L-lactate, while simultaneously converting NADH to NAD+. Lactate dehydrogenase catalyzes the reaction between pyruvate and lactate and is involved in the glycolytic pathway, particularly in anaerobic conditions.
