Target Information
In felines, glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate dehydrogenase (GAPDH) is a multifunctional enzyme primarily involved in glycolysis, catalyzing the conversion of glyceraldehyde-3-phosphate to 1,3-bisphosphoglycerate. Beyond its metabolic role, GAPDH participates in various non-metabolic processes, including transcriptional regulation, nucleic acid repair, apoptosis, and the biogenesis of extracellular vesicles. In feline research, GAPDH is commonly used as a housekeeping gene in Western blot and RT-PCR experiments for normalizing protein and mRNA expression levels.
