Target Information
Bovine pleiotrophin is a multifunctional protein that belongs to the heparin-binding growth factor family. It is known for its role in various biological processes such as cell adhesion, migration, survival, growth, and differentiation. Pleiotrophin is an 18 kDa protein that is highly conserved across different species, including cattle, and is involved in neural development, tumor growth, and tissue repair. In cattle, Pleiotrophin has been associated with the modulation of chondrocyte phenotype and the regulation of limb development and growth. It is also implicated in the maintenance of hematopoietic stem cells, adipocyte differentiation, and endothelial cell migration. The protein's expression patterns suggest its importance in fetal development, with abundant mRNA present in fetal cartilage but at significantly lower levels in adult cartilage.
Shipping and Storage
This product is shipped with dry ice. It is recommended to aliquot as needed and store at -80°C upon receipt. Reconstituted protein solution can be stored at 4°C for 1 week, at < -80°C for 12 months. Avoid repeated freezing and thawing.
Documents
The product is for research use only.
Not for commercial, prophylactic, diagnostic, or therapeutic applications.
User Note
- Always centrifuge tubes before opening. Avoid mixing by vortexing or pipetting. Reconstitute in 10mM PBS (pH7.4) to a concentration of 0.1-1.0 mg/mL. Aliquot the reconstituted solution to minimise freeze-thaw cycles.
