Target Information

Bovine selenoprotein P is a selenium-containing protein that is essential for selenium transport and delivery to various tissues in cattle. It is synthesized mainly in the liver and plays a critical role in maintaining selenium homeostasis throughout the body. This protein is involved in antioxidant defense, thyroid hormone metabolism, and the protection of cells from oxidative damage. Selenoprotein P also contributes to the proper development and function of the nervous system and is indicative of the selenium nutritional status in Bovines.
