Target Information
Bovine fatty acid binding protein 2 (FABP2) is an intracellular protein that plays a role in the transport and metabolism of fatty acids within Bovine cells. It is particularly important in tissues with high lipid metabolism, such as the liver and adipose tissue. FABP2 aids in the uptake and distribution of fatty acids, which are vital for energy production and the synthesis of cellular membranes. In cattle, this protein may also be involved in the regulation of milk fat content and could have implications for dairy production, as variations in the FABP2 gene have been linked to differences in milk yield and composition.
