Target Information
Bovine chromogranin B (CHGB) is a protein found in secretory vesicles of endocrine and neuroendocrine cells, playing a role in the packaging and release of hormones and neurotransmitters. It is involved in the regulation of catecholamine storage and release, and may have extra-cellular functions through its proteolytic processing to form smaller peptides that could be involved in stress responses and autocrine inhibition of hormone release. CHGB is also associated with hypertension and could serve as a biomarker for various conditions.
