Target Information

Candida albicans enolase 1 is a multifunctional protein that plays a role in both metabolism and immune modulation. It is involved in the glycolytic pathway and also acts as a plasminogen receptor, promoting the degradation of the extracellular matrix and enhancing the pathogen's dissemination. Additionally, Enolase 1 can bind to human CD4+ T cells, modulating naive and memory responses, which may contribute to immune evasion by the fungus.
