Target Information

Canine CD40 Ligand (CD40LG) is a member of the TNF superfamily, transiently expressed on activated T cells. It binds to CD40 on antigen-presenting cells (APCs), promoting their activation and maturation. In dogs, CD40LG is crucial for B cell function and immune responses, including immunoglobulin class switching and germinal center formation. It also enhances dendritic cell maturation and activation, which is vital for antigen presentation and T cell activation. Additionally, CD40LG has therapeutic potential in cancer immunotherapy, as shown in studies where it was used to treat canine melanoma, resulting in immune cell infiltration and tumor regression.
