Target Information

Canine Insulin-Like Growth Factor-Binding Protein 5 (IGFBP5) is a multifunctional protein that binds to insulin-like growth factors (IGFs) and regulates their activity. It plays a role in cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis. IGFBP5 is involved in mammary gland development and has been identified as a prognostic biomarker in canine mammary tumors. Elevated levels of IGFBP5 autoantibodies (IGFBP5-AAb) are associated with worse overall survival in dogs with malignant mammary tumors.
