Target Information
Canine leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF) is a pleiotropic cytokine that belongs to the interleukin-6 family. It plays a significant role in various biological processes, including immune responses, inflammation, and the regulation of cell growth and differentiation. LIF is involved in the development of several malignancies, where its high expression can enhance tumor cell invasion and migration, and reduce the sensitivity to chemotherapy and radiotherapy, leading to poor prognosis in patients. It is also considered a potential target for cancer therapy.
