Target Information
Chicken mitochondrial Rho GTPase 1, also known as Miro, is an atypical Rho GTPase protein located on the mitochondrial outer membrane. It plays a crucial role in the maintenance of mitochondrial axonal transport, mitochondrial homeostasis, and calcium ion homeostasis. Miro acts as a molecular switch, regulating physiological and cellular functions through two GTP binding domains and two Ca2+ binding EF-hands. In chickens, Miro is essential for the proper distribution and morphology of mitochondria in cells, particularly in high energy-demanding tissues such as muscles. It ensures the continuous energy requirement is met and supports neuronal growth, survival, and function. Miro's role in mitochondrial dynamics is also implicated in the response to stress and diseases, highlighting its importance in maintaining cellular energy balance and health.
Shipping and Storage
