Target Information
Bovine gastrin/cholecystokinin type B receptor (CCKBR) is a protein encoded by the CCKBR gene in humans. It is a multipass transmembrane receptor protein expressed in the central nervous system and gastrointestinal tract. This receptor is responsible for modulating anxiety, analgesia, arousal, and neuroleptic activity in the CNS, and it stimulates gastric acid secretion and mucosal growth in the GI tract. It mediates its action by association with G proteins that activate a phosphatidylinositol-calcium second messenger system. In Bovine, CCKBR plays a similar role, contributing to the regulation of digestion and potentially influencing other physiological processes such as anxiety and pain sensation, although specific Bovine functions may differ slightly from those in humans.
