Target Information

SPARC (secreted protein, acidic and rich in cysteine) is an extracellular Ca2(+)-binding protein associated with cell populations undergoing migration, proliferation and/or differentiation. SPARC is synthesized by cells and then released into the surrounding ECM. It has an acidic isoelectric point, meaning it carries a net negative charge at physiological pH. It contains a high proportion of the amino acid cysteine, contributing to its unique structure and function.
