Target Information
Bovine interleukin 12B (IL12B) is a subunit of the interleukin-12 (IL-12) cytokine, which is a crucial immunomodulatory protein in cattle. IL-12 is a heterodimer consisting of two subunits, IL-12B (p40) and IL-12A (p35), and it plays a significant role in promoting Th1 cell differentiation and the production of interferon-gamma (IFN-γ) by T cells and natural killer (NK) cells. This protein is essential for the development of cell-mediated immunity and helps to defend against intracellular pathogens. IL-12 also has anti-tumor properties and is involved in the pathogenesis of various diseases, including autoimmune conditions and cancer. The balance of IL-12 signaling is critical for maintaining immune homeostasis and preventing excessive inflammation.
