Target Information
Chicken focal adhesion kinase 1 (PTK2), also known as FAK, is a non-receptor protein-tyrosine kinase that plays a crucial role in cell adhesion, migration, and the regulation of the actin cytoskeleton. This kinase is essential for various cellular processes, including embryonic development, angiogenesis, and the formation of focal adhesions, which are critical for cell signaling and movement. In chickens, PTK2 contributes to the development and maintenance of tissue integrity, and it may also be involved in the response to injury and the regulation of cell survival. The activity of PTK2 is important for the proper functioning of the chicken's immune system and its role in disease resistance.
