Target Information

Chicken metallothionein 1 (MT1) has several important functions in chickens. It is a cysteine-rich, low molecular weight protein that can bind to various heavy metal ions (such as zinc, cadmium, and copper), playing a crucial role in heavy metal detoxification. Additionally, MT1 has antioxidant functions, protecting cells from oxidative stress damage. In terms of immune regulation, MT1 helps enhance the function of immune cells and promotes immune responses. These functions make MT1 important for maintaining physiological balance and health in chickens.
