Chicken protein HIRA (Histone Cell Cycle Regulator) is a conserved histone chaperone involved in chromatin structure regulation. It plays a key role in embryonic development, particularly in cell cycle control and histone gene expression regulation. HIRA interacts with histones and other chromatin proteins to maintain heterochromatin states, thereby influencing gene expression. It exhibits highly regulated expression patterns during chick embryogenesis, which are essential for normal development.
