Target Information

Chicken type-1 angiotensin II receptor (AGTR1) is a G protein-coupled receptor that mediates the major cardiovascular effects of angiotensin II, a peptide hormone regulating blood pressure and fluid balance. In chickens, AGTR1 is involved in embryonic development, particularly in the heart and chorioallantoic membrane. It also plays a role in blood pressure regulation and may influence renal function. AGTR1 is a potential target for studying hypertension and other cardiovascular disorders in chickens.
