Target Information
The hepatic lipase (LIPC) gene encodes the enzyme hepatic triglyceride lipase in pigs. This enzyme is expressed in the liver and adrenal glands. This enzyme predominantly hydrolyzes triacylglycerol in plasma, facilitating the conversion of very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) remnants into low-density lipoproteins (LDL), as well as hydrolyzing triacylglycerol in high-density lipoproteins (HDL).
