Target Information

Equine fibroblast growth factor 8, androgen induced (FGF8) is a protein that belongs to the fibroblast growth factor family, playing a significant role in various biological processes such as embryonic development, tissue regeneration, and maintaining homeostasis. FGF8 is involved in the regulation of cell proliferation, growth, and migration, and it has been shown to contribute to limb morphogenesis. It also plays a role in the animal models of osteoarthritis, where it is produced by injured synovium and enhances the production of protease and prostaglandin E2 from inflamed synoviocytes, leading to the degradation of the extracellular matrix and exacerbation of osteoarthritis.
