Target Information

Klebsiella species are well-recognized as rod-shaped, gram-negative, non-motile, lactose-fermenting, and facultatively anaerobic bacteria within the Enterobacteriaceae family. Klebsiella pneumoniae is an opportunistic pathogen linked to various complex clinical infections in both humans and animals. Metallo-beta-lactamase type 2 confers resistance to the different beta-lactams antibiotics (penicillin, cephalosporin and carbapenem) via the hydrolysis of the beta-lactam ring.
