Target Information

Mycobacterium Bovis Immunogenic Protein MPB70 is a significant antigen in Mycobacterium bovis, highly expressed and crucial for the immune response in bovine tuberculosis. It is involved in both humoral and cellular immune responses, making it a target for diagnostic tests of bovine TB. MPB70 is a soluble secreted protein that is cleaved by signal peptidase I and is not associated with the bacterial surface, which differentiates it from MPB83, a lipoprotein located at the surface of the bacteria.
