Target Information
Sheep CCN family member 2, also known as connective tissue growth factor (CTGF), plays a significant role in various biological processes in sheep. It is involved in cell adhesion, migration, proliferation, angiogenesis, skeletal development, and tissue wound repair. Particularly, it promotes the proliferation and differentiation of chondrocytes, which is crucial for bone and cartilage formation. CCN2 also mediates cell adhesion in many cell types, including fibroblasts, myofibroblasts, endothelial, and epithelial cells, and enhances fibroblast growth factor-induced DNA synthesis.
