Target Information
Sheep pulmonary adenomatosis virus envelope glycoprotein (ENV), also known as the envelope protein of Jaagsiekte Sheep Retrovirus (JSRV), is a crucial component in the development of ovine pulmonary adenocarcinoma (OPA), a contagious lung cancer in sheep. ENV is an oncoprotein that can induce cell transformation both in vitro and in vivo, activating pathways such as phosphatidylinositol 3-kinase/Akt and MEK/mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK), which are essential for tumorigenesis. It plays a significant role in the interaction with cell growth pathways, leading to the development of lung tumors in sheep.
