Target Information
Swine coagulation factor V1, also known as FV, is a plasma protein that plays a dual role in both procoagulant and anticoagulant activities. It is activated by thrombin or activated factor X (FXa) to form activated factor Va (FVa), which then acts as a cofactor for FXa in the prothrombin complex, leading to the activation of prothrombin to thrombin. Additionally, FV serves as a cofactor for activated protein C (APC) in inhibiting the activity of FVa and activated factor VIII (FVIIIa), contributing to its anticoagulant function.
