Target Information
Swine retinol-binding protein 2 (RBP2) is a 16 kDa cytosolic protein predominantly located in the absorptive cells of the proximal small intestine. It plays a central role in facilitating the uptake of dietary retinoids, their metabolism in enterocytes, and their local actions within the intestine. RBP2 is crucial for maintaining vitamin A homeostasis and ensuring the proper distribution and delivery of vitamin A to target tissues.
