Target Information
The CD3D gene in cattle encodes the T-cell surface glycoprotein CD3 delta chain. This protein is a component of the TCR-CD3 complex, which is present on the surface of T lymphocytes and plays a crucial role in the adaptive immune response. When antigen-presenting cells (APCs) activate the T-cell receptor (TCR), the TCR-mediated signals are transmitted across the cell membrane by the CD3 chains, including CD3D, CD3E, CD3G, and CD3Z. All CD3 chains contain immunoreceptor tyrosine-based activation motifs (ITAMs) in their cytoplasmic domains, which are essential for signal transduction.
