Target Information

DNA damage-inducible transcript 3 (DDIT3), also known as C/EBP homologous protein (CHOP), is a pro-apoptotic transcription factor encoded by the DDIT3 gene in cattle. It belongs to the CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein (C/EBP) family of DNA-binding transcription factors. It plays important roles in endoplasmic reticulum (ER) stress-induced apoptosis and autophagy. DDIT3 has a dual role: it acts both as an inhibitor of C/EBP function and as an activator of other genes.
