Target Information

Keratin 18 (KRT18), also known as cytokeratin-18 (CK-18) or simply keratin 18 (K18), is a protein belonging to the intermediate filament family. KRT18 is expressed exclusively in the trophectoderm and can therefore be used as a marker for trophectodermal differentiation. KRT18 is a type I cytokeratin, found in the cytoplasm of various epithelial cells throughout the body. Keratins exist as pairs, and KRT18 typically partners with KRT8.
