Bovine polyomavirus-1 (BoPyV-1, Epsilonpolyomavirus bovis) is prevalent in cattle and has been found in commercially sold beef in supermarkets across the USA and Germany. BoPyV-1 has been considered a potential zoonotic agent, with documented increases in seropositivity among individuals exposed to cattle.
