Target Information

Candida glabrata is one of the most frequently identified yeast species within the human gut mycobiota. Beyond humans, this yeast is a common commensal organism in various pet bird species, such as cockatiels, parakeets, lovebirds, and cockatoos, as well as in migratory birds like the common whitethroat (Sylvia communis) and the spotted flycatcher (Muscicapa striata). As an opportunistic pathogenic yeast, Candida glabrata is known to be prone to developing resistance to fluconazole.
