Target Information

Enramycin, a polypeptide antibiotic synthesized by Streptomyces fungicidus, is commonly employed as a feed additive for pigs and chickens. Its primary function is to prevent necrotic enteritis caused by Gram-positive gut pathogens. Enramycin works by inhibiting the enzyme MurG, which is crucial for the biosynthesis of cell walls in Gram-positive bacteria.
