Target Information

Lincomycin, a lincosamide antibiotic derived from the actinomycete Streptomyces lincolnensis, shares a similar antibacterial spectrum and mechanism of action with macrolides. However, lincomycin is also effective against certain organisms such as actinomycetes, as well as some Mycoplasma and Plasmodium species. It is frequently used in dogs and cats to treat bacterial skin infections, dermatitis, pyoderma, and soft tissue infections.
