Target Information

Spectinomycin is a pyranobenzodioxin antibiotic effective against gram-negative bacteria, produced by the bacterium Streptomyces spectabilis. It's utilized in cattle for treating respiratory infections caused by Pasteurella, Mannheimia, and Histophilus somni (formerly Haemophilus somnus), and also shows activity against Mycoplasma. Though it's been used in dogs, it's not commonly employed.
