Target Information

Neurotoxic shellfish poisoning (NSP) results from ingesting brevetoxins, marine toxins generated by the dinoflagellate Karenia brevis and others. NSP typically manifests as gastroenteritis coupled with neurological symptoms, and often resembles mild paralytic shellfish poisoning or ciguatera poisoning.
