Target Information

Ractopamine is a feed additive for animals, employed to enhance leanness and improve the efficiency of food conversion in farm animals in various countries, though it is prohibited in others. As a phenol-based TAAR1 agonist and β adrenoreceptor agonist, it activates β1 and β2 adrenergic receptors. Ractopamine is predominantly given to animals used for meat production in the form of ractopamine hydrochloride.
