Lomefloxacin is a broad-spectrum fluoroquinolone antibiotic utilized for treating bacterial extraocular disease. Fluoroquinolones work by inhibiting DNA synthesis through the suppression of bacterial DNA gyrase, and they are effective against both gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria, as well as some anaerobic bacteria.
