Target Information

Crystal violet is a triarylmethane dye employed as a histological stain and in Gram's bacterial classification method. It possesses antibacterial, antifungal, antihelminthic, antitrypanosomal, antiangiogenic, and antitumor effects. Due to its antimicrobial properties, it is utilized to treat Ichthyophthirius multifiliis in fish. However, its use is typically prohibited in fish meant for human consumption.
