Target Information

Furaltadone belongs to the nitrofuran class of antibiotics, which were once widely utilized to treat gastrointestinal and skin infections, such as salmonellosis, in livestock including cattle, swine, poultry, fish, and shrimp. However, long-term research involving experimental animals revealed that both the original drugs and their metabolites have carcinogenic and mutagenic properties. AMOZ is identified as a metabolite of the nitrofuran antibiotic, furaltadone.
