Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is a type of antibody, also known as an immunoglobulin, which is a Y-shaped protein produced by the immune system to fight against infections. Immunoglobulin G (IgG) is the predominant antibody class in equine serum and colostrum and is present on mucosal surfaces where it is the most abundant isotype in the equine urinary tract, lower respiratory tract and lungs.
