Target Information

Bovine heme oxygenase 1 (HO-1) is a stress-responsive enzyme that plays a pivotal role in cellular antioxidant defenses and anti-apoptotic functions. It is upregulated in heat-stressed cells and has been shown to attenuate heat stress-induced apoptosis in bovine granulosa cells by decreasing the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and activating the antioxidant response.
