Target Information
Canine IgM μ chain is a crucial component of the immunoglobulin M (IgM) in dogs, which is the first antibody isotype produced in an immune response to antigens. IgM is a pentameric structure, with the μ chain being the heavy chain found in all five Y-shaped monomers. This chain plays a vital role in the initial defense against pathogens, as it can activate the complement system effectively and is particularly efficient at binding to antigens on the surface of pathogens.
