Target Information
Canine PECR (Peroxisomal D-bifunctional protein, ELOVL fatty acid elongase, and Sar1A protein domain-containing protein) is an enzyme that participates in the chain elongation of fatty acids, playing a crucial role in fatty acid biosynthesis and metabolism. It is particularly involved in the reduction of trans-2-enoyl-CoAs of varying chain lengths, with maximum activity observed with 10:1 CoA. PECR is also associated with signaling receptor binding activity and is located in the peroxisome. In terms of its role in diseases, PECR has been identified as a prognostic marker in certain cancers, such as Kidney renal clear cell carcinoma and Liver hepatocellular carcinoma, indicating its potential significance in canine oncology.
