Target Information

Proline-rich kinase 2 (PYK2), also known as protein tyrosine kinase 2, is a non-receptor tyrosine kinase that plays a pivotal role in signal transduction pathways. PYK2 is involved in the transmission of signals from the cell membrane to the nucleus, influencing various cellular responses, including cell growth, differentiation, and migration. This enzyme is activated by a variety of stimuli, such as oxidative stress and growth factors, and it interacts with multiple binding partners to modulate its activity. PYK2's function in intracellular signaling is critical for the regulation of cytoskeletal dynamics and the cellular response to extracellular matrix interactions.
