Target Information
Canine nuclear receptor binding protein 1 (NRBP1) is a highly conserved adapter protein that plays a multifaceted role in cellular processes, including gene expression regulation, DNA repair, and apoptosis. It is known to interact with various transcription factors and proteins, such as TSC22D2, TSC22D4, and Sall4, and has been implicated in the progression of several types of cancer. In colorectal cancer, high NRBP1 expression correlates with better prognosis, and it can trigger apoptosis and inhibit cell proliferation in vitro and reduce tumor growth in vivo. However, its role can be context-specific, as it appears to play an oncogenic role in prostate and bladder cancer, where its expression is associated with poor clinical outcomes.
