Target Information
Porcine kallikrein-related peptidase 11 (KLK11), also known as prostasin or trypsin-2, is a member of the kallikrein family of serine proteases that plays a critical role in the regulation of various physiological processes in pigs. KLK11 is involved in the processing of proteins, particularly those involved in the renin-angiotensin system, which is essential for blood pressure regulation and fluid balance. This enzyme is highly expressed in the kidneys and other tissues where it contributes to the activation of proenzymes and the modulation of peptide hormones. KLK11 is also implicated in the regulation of cell proliferation, differentiation, and apoptosis, making it a key player in tissue homeostasis and the maintenance of healthy cell populations.
