Target Information

Porcine amphiregulin (AREG) is a member of the epidermal growth factor (EGF) family of growth factors, playing a pivotal role in cell growth, differentiation, and tissue repair in pigs. AREG is a potent mitogen that binds to the EGF receptor (EGFR), also known as ErbB1 or HER1, to initiate intracellular signaling pathways that promote cell proliferation and survival. This protein is particularly important in the regulation of epithelial cell function and has been implicated in various physiological processes, including wound healing, tissue morphogenesis, and the maintenance of tissue homeostasis. AREG is also associated with the modulation of immune responses and inflammation.
